Shipping policy

The standard shipping options for international deliveries are FedEx International Economy or UPS Worldwide Saver, which typically take 6-9 days to deliver worldwide. Priority shipments typically take 3-5 days. 

Except for the European Union and Canada, our standard international terms of trade ("incoterms") are "Delivery at Place" (DAP). You can learn more about Incoterms on, e.g., Wikipedia. The hardware ships from Shenzhen, China. 

Under DAP terms, taxes, import duties, tariffs, and any applicable customs fees are the buyer's responsibility and are to be paid to the import country border authorities when receiving the shipment. 

For shipments to countries in the EU or Canada, our standard incoterms are DDP, or "Delivery Duty Paid". This means that all applicable charges are paid to us, and you will not receive other bills from customs.

If your cart is showing a "Taxes" charge that is larger than $0, it means we will ship with DDP terms. If you do not see a "Taxes" line item at checkout, it means we will be shipping DAP, and you will receive another bill. If you would like to change your standard incoterms, just let us know at info@duckietown.com. 

If you wish to receive an order with pre-paid custom fees, please reach out to us at sales@duckietown.com, and we will be happy to arrange it. 

We ship worldwide, following international safety regulations and USA-based access restrictions. Countries that have stricter import regulations may prevent us from delivering selected items. It is the buyer's responsibility to be aware of the import regulations and process of the country of delivery. If you are unsure, please reach out to us before placing an order and we might be able to help find out.

While we will help with the import process as possible, we are not responsible for customs final decisions, or additional documentation border authorities might request from the buyer. Goods that are returned from customs due to the unavailability of the buyer or the inability to provide requested documentation on time, will be considered returned products and refunded after calculating shipping costs and associated return fees.

If you are having your order delivered in the continental USA, and we have stock in the USA, we can reduce the cost of shipping by using USPS. In our experience, USPS has a relatively high rate of package losses, the reason for which we don't offer it as a standard shipping solution. We will ship by USPS upon request but will not offer replacements nor reimboursements in case of package loss. For additional information, please reach out to hardware@duckietown.com.

If you or your institution has a FedEx, UPS, or DHL courier account you would like us to use, we will be happy to zero our shipping expenses. Please reach out to hardware@duckietown.com to provide the account number.
